COVID-19 pandemic affects the children of this generation

         The Coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc on the functioning and outcomes of educational systems, some of which have already been strained in various ways. This is true all over the world, and it affects all children to varying degrees depending on a variety of factors, including where they live, their ages, family foundations, and their access to "substitute" educational opportunities during the pandemic. When the pandemic reached its peak in late winter, the virus forced almost all of the more than 55 million students under the age of 18 in the United States to stay at home, and 1.4 billion people out of school or child care around the world.  Not only did these children need daily access to class and the necessary support services that schools provide for a large number of students, but they often missed out on a variety of exercises, group events, and athletic opportunities such as pools and jungle gyms.        The current ...
